Courses

Our courses are focused on preparing international students for entry into top boarding schools in the UK and overseas.

A stimulating curriculum and range of syllabi are specifically adapted to develop the necessary skills and abilities for students to achieve success at Key Stage 2, 3 and 4.

Students study 12-13 hours of English language in order to ensure they reach the levels required for study at their appropriate age group.  The English programme is broken down to help students develop expertise in the use of English for everyday life and for their academic career as follows:

  • Skills for Life
  • Drama and Literature
  • English Support for Subject Classes
  • Academic English (ESOL)

The remainder of the timetable consists of study in a range of subjects from Key Stage 2 to IGCSE level, taught by teachers who are experienced in their own field of study, as well as in catering for the specific needs of international students.

Each student has an Individual Learning Plan (updated regularly), weekly tutorials and benefits from preparation for entrance examinations and interviews (in relation to entry to a mainstream boarding school after Bishopstrow).

Extra-curricular activities complement the academic programme.
